Soon after, she decides to get liposuction at the clinic.
Unfortunately, after a botched procedure, she contracts sepsis. The journalist might end up needing a permanent stoma. Back in Weatherfield, her boyfriend, Daniel Osborne receives the news from the Turkish hospital that Bethany is in intensive care and rushes to the airport.
To make things worse, Bethany forgets to tell her travel insurance about her surgery. Now, she can’t be discharged without clearing hospital bills. Her family tries to figure out how to come up with the money. How will Bethany overcome these challenges?

She acknowledged the excitement of tackling intense material from an acting perspective while also recognising the responsibility. She hopes it will encourage people to reconsider cosmetic surgeries.
Reportedly, the UK sees a huge spike in people needing fix-ups after botched cosmetic surgeries abroad. A 2023 study by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons revealed that the number jumped by 94% in just three years, with Turkey being the culprit for more than three-quarters of these cases.
Hence, the soap has made a big move by showing a character with a stoma bag, which affects over 200,000 people in the UK. Each year, the NHS performs between 13,500 and 21,000 operations that result in stomas. Corrie has been collaborating with Colostomy UK to ensure an accurate portrayal.
