Next week, Betsy spots Carla in a fight with a thug bothering Roy Cropper. She threatens to tell the police unless Carla hires her at the factory for the summer. As the week continues, the newcomer sees Beth sneaking into the factory and follows her. She finds out Beth is doing something secret behind Carla’s back.
Betsy threatens her to let her join the plan, or she’ll spill everything to Carla. As a result, Beth hesitantly teaches Betsy how to sew fake labels onto knock-off T-shirts in the factory. Additionally, actress Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy, hinted at exciting developments for her character.
She revealed that Betsy is rebellious due to losing her other mother while on duty. This has led her to disregard authority. The soap star mentioned tension in Betsy’s relationship with Lisa. According to Martin, Betsy is somewhat naive and feels exempt from following the law.
Regarding Betsy’s storyline involving blackmail, Martin finds it exciting to explore a strong female character who fights back against challenges immediately. She particularly enjoys the theme of girls supporting each other. She hinted that Betsy would give Joel a tough challenge at upcoming events.
