Things start going wrong when Debbie tells Ryan to look after the hotel while she is away. Also, Ryan tries to follow her instructions. However, in one of the tasks, he had to ask Carl to put QR code stickers around the place. It was not a difficult job. However still refuses to do it. It’s because he is still annoyed that Debbie trusted Ryan to handle the hotel instead of him.
Even Ronnie sees the tension, and she backs Ryan. And Carl got more irritated with this backing. Later, Ryan sees that the stickers are dumped in the bin. Annoyed by his behaviour, he fires Carl immediately. He thinks it’s the only way he can keep order in the hotel. However, he didn’t realise that Carl would not walk away quietly. He becomes more volatile after the firing.
At the same time, Adam Barlow tries to bring some hope to Debbie. She had recently suffered another Transient Ischemic Attack. It’s basically a mini stroke. And Adam wants to use that information so that Debbie gets a lighter sentence. And it doesn’t matter whether Carl can understand the seriousness of this situation. He is already showing no concern for his mother.
Later, he decides to burn down the Chariot Square Hotel. It is the same place that Debbie is fighting to protect. He is completely blinded by his anger. Carl doesn’t even think of how many people could get hurt. He only wants Ryan to pay for sacking him.
Debbie’s Future And What Prison Means For Her In Coronation Street
Also, there are high chances that Carl would successfully set the hotel on fire. Elsewhere, Sue Devaney, who plays Debbie, recently spoke about the storyline. She said what prison is doing to her character.
