THIS Corrie Character Is Destined for Exit
As per the news, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) is supposed to die and exit the show in 2025. However, being a 40-year-old debut character of the cobbles, fans can’t accept the death plot.
According to a source, “It’s one of the show’s biggest storylines of the year and a real chance for Sue to finally get her time in the spotlight – it will just be devastating for fans that it will effectively be her final storyline.” The source also revealed how the bosses are planning for her exit to be one of the historical ones in soap history. But it seems like fans aren’t ready to say goodbye to her just yet.
Fans Are NOT Happy
One fan wrote: “Sue is like a breath of fresh air and frivolity amongst the moaning and murder and she’s also a superb actor and has been very underused since her welcome return in 2019.” Another added: “The story of Debbie having dementia is HUGELY unpopular with long-term, loyal viewers. I can’t speak for others, but after 45 years, I feel done with the show (I’m only 50). The chances of you reading this is slim and the chances of my moan making you change your mind is even slimmer – but I feel like I need to vent somewhere.”
Another added: “Another #issue based storyline. Can’t they do a more minor one for once, maybe have a character with diabetes or something, something they talk about in the background.” “A bit like EastEnders with Kojo’s autism, not something put in a major announcement. This storyline should not be for Debbie,” argued another.
