Dame Maureen Lipman is marking her another temporary exit from the ITV soap. Viewers must recall that the star entered Weatherfield in 2018 as Tyrone Dobbs’s grandmother. Now, the show has confirmed that she will return to her role as Evelyn Plummer after some time away.
The show spokesperson stated, “Dame Maureen is taking a sabbatical from Coronation Street towards the end of the year. We look forward to seeing her back on the cobbles in 2025.” During her break, Dame Maureen will perform in the panto at Richmond Theatre’s Beauty and the Beast production.
