As per the Coronation Street spoilers, our favorite Billy, aka Daniel Brocklebank, has decided to step out of the show after ten years. Because of his recent new project, he is stepping away from the cobbles. But is it something permanent or just for some time? We don’t know yet. Let’s see.
Billy’s Next
The actor, Daniel Brocklebank, has been at the center of the show’s plotline and has dealt with some of the major storylines – beginning with his husband’s illness, death, addictions, and whatnot. Most recently, we even saw him having a near-death experience – ah, what a journey it has been.
We couldn’t help but feel for him when he slept in the cold, drunk, and Paul’s mother had to come to the rescue. Later, we also saw Billy getting into a painkiller and heroin addiction. Now, you’ll see him taking on a new role at London’s Palladium Theatre.
Dan’s New Role
For two days in February 2025, you can see him play Antonio for the musical Figaro. Announcing the news on X, he said: “I’m hugely excited to announce that I’ll be stepping away from the cobbles of @itvcorrie (only for a few days) to debut the Role of Antonio in @figaromusical, a brand new musical at the iconic venue the @LondonPalladium on the 3rd & 4th of Feb 2025. Tickets are on sale now.”
The show will feature Sienna, who dreams of a life as a singer but can’t fulfill it because she has to live on her father’s farm. Later, when she becomes a traveling performer, she will have to pay a price for this fame.
Fans were quick to congratulate him, with one writing: ‘Ahh @Dan_Brocklebank so pleased!! You’re always amazing on @itvcorrie and its been so tough plus us real fans KNOW you can sing too. Love you in Corrie but do think you could do really well in a long term West End show.’ Another penned: ‘Congratulations Daniel, great to hear enjoy I do hope to come and watch you if possible.’
Dan Says Goodbye
The actor took to Instagram to share two pictures from his time in Weatherfield, saying: “Today marks 10 years since I first appeared on @coronationstreet’ he wrote alongside them. It really is utterly wonderful to work there. I’ve loved every second. I can’t thank everyone at Corrie enough for giving me some of the happiest years of my professional life. Here’s to many more!”
We also saw his co-stars Harriet Bibby, Liam McCheyne, and Sally Carman-Duttine commenting on that post and congratulating him on his new project. We still don’t know yet if this is the official goodbye or if there’s more to come – only upcoming Coronation Street spoilers can tell. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily to know if Billy is making a surprise comeback anytime soon.
