Bethany Platt and Daniel Osbourne will be the focus of an emotional storyline. Next week, Bethany is set to get cosmetic surgery abroad because she feels insecure about her appearance. Unfortunately, her surgery goes wrong, causing a severe infection that puts Bethany’s life in grave danger.
This comes after the journalist spots Daniel hugging Daisy outside the Rovers Return and gets worried. Later, she jets off to Turkey for a paid advertorial about a cosmetic surgery clinic. Surprisingly, she decides to get a procedure done right away.
Recently, on the red carpet at the NTA, Lucy Fallon (Bethany) and Rob (Daniel) reflected on the upcoming plot. The actress revealed, “Bethany goes and gets some cosmetic surgery, but it ends up going wrong, and she’s left very poorly. Daniel saves the day.”
She explained that Bethany’s insecurity, particularly concerning Daniel and his ex-girlfriend Daisy, contributed to her decision to get the surgery. Additionally, Rob mentioned that following Bethany’s decision, there will be a significant fallout affecting everyone involved, including Bethany’s self-image and her feelings of attractiveness.

He added, “Bethany worries about whether Daniel finds her attractive or not. So it throws all of that into the relationship.” Rob also talked about tackling severe storylines. He noted that these are often the ones that generate the most interest.
