Coronation Street spoilers suggest Adam Barlow will soon experience a fall from the stairs on Christmas Day, and David is to blame. Chances are, Adam will be heavily injured from the fall – will there even be a scope for recovery? We don’t know yet. As we already know, Adam was covering for Shona as she spent the night with Kit. So, does David know about this secret now? Is this the reason behind this showdown? Let’s see.
Adam and Shona’s Secret
Adam knows that Shona has spent a night with a mystery man – though Shona accepts it, she doesn’t reveal the man’s identity to Adam. However, Adam asks her to come clean with David and tell him the truth about his past experiences, but she doesn’t listen. Instead, Shona lies to David. When she spends the night out with Kit, she tells David that Adam rescued her drunk and sheltered her in his place. She also clarified that Adam slept on the couch while she slept on the bed – but the lies only pile up.
Later, David spots them together deep in conversation on the street and grows suspicious. But when David asks her about her day, he sees Shona deliberately hiding meeting with Adam, making his suspicions grow. In the build-up, David now starts thinking that there’s possibly something going on between Adam and Shona. If this suspicion goes on, we might see their relationship end sooner than ever.
David’s Suspicions Grow
On Christmas Eve, Debbie insists that Shona attend the New Year’s Eve party, but Shona declines. Then Debbie teases her, saying she enjoys hotel rooms more now than parties. Thankfully, David was a bit behind and could only hear the tail-end of the sentence, which adds to his suspicion. On Christmas Day, David is surprised when Shona doesn’t give him the aftershave he found in her bag earlier.
Later, when Adam visits the Platt house, David smells the same aftershave and gets furious. Frustrated, he asks Adam to join him for a birthday drink. Adam has no clue that David is suspecting him with Shona. While David stays sober by drinking water, he makes Adam drunk with whiskey. By the time the Platts come to find David, they see him accusing Adam of sleeping with Shona.
