Eva’s Plan To Push Maggie Out
The clash between Maggie and Eva did not begin in Weatherfield. Their arguments have been a part of family life for a long time. However, their small comments turned into something bigger during Christmas. It happened when Maggie revealed Eva’s abortion in front of the whole pub. And this had upset Ben so much that he supported Eva in the matter. Moreover, he even asked Maggie to leave.
However, later, he allowed her to come back. But he kept a condition that she needs to stop trying to hurt Eva. Next week, Eva decides that she wants Maggie completely out of the business. She then turns to Leanned and tries to convince her to buy Maggie’s shares. However, Maggie soon realises that something is happening behind her back. And so she goes and confronts Eva.
However, their argument becomes heated again. Ben avoids taking sides this time. And he steps out to sort a beer delivery. When he returned, he dealt with heart palpitations and rushed to the hospital. Elsewhere, Ben is discharged from the hospital in Wednesday’s episode (21 January). And the doctor advised him not take too much stress. However, the next morning, another argument starts at the breakfast table. And Ben is clearly affected.
Ben’s Declining Health Forces A Truce In Coronation Street
Ben’s conditions shock both women. Eva and Maggie finally see the impact of their constant disagreements on him. Then they both agree that something has to change, at least for the sake of his recovery. They both decide on a truce.
However, they both know it won’t be easy. A soap’s insider explains that Eva finds Maggie extremely difficult to deal with. It’s because Maggie passes comments on everything that Eva does. Also, she has been harsh about the abortion.
And Eva feels judged and cornered. On the other hand, Maggie believes that Eva is trying to control too much and reacts strongly to criticism.
