Next week on Coronation Street, from 30 April to Friday 2 May, everything starts to come apart for Daisy just as she is getting set to depart Weatherfield. Debbie is confronted with something she never imagined she would hear, and Carla is beginning to realize there is more to Betsy‘s injury than she is admitting. Here‘s a closer look at what awaits.
Daisy‘s Scheme Backfires and Triggers Her Exit Plans
Daisy’s plotting with Christina is foiled when she starts suspecting her crime partner. Christina won’t ditch her burner phone and allow Dom to call Jenny herself, something that alarms Daisy. But by the time Daisy can do something about her suspicions, Jenny comes clean about inheriting money from Daisy‘s recently deceased father – and intends to invest it in Dom’s business.
Meanwhile, Daniel swings into the Rovers and sees that Christina has two phones. Confused, he can tell something‘s not right. None the worse for wear, Jenny put the money in Dom‘s account, unaware she’s just walked right into the trap.
Later, at Julie’s bingo fundraiser, Christina calls the numbers when Daisy finds a distraught Jenny in the back room. Something obviously isn’t right, and Daisy sees the big picture.
In the wake of the drama, Jenny begs Daisy not to go. Meanwhile, Daniel, Ryan, and Kit reminisce about their complicated relationships with her. As the day arrives for Daisy to depart Weatherfield, she has a touching moment with Daniel. Will his words convince her, though, or has Daisy already reached a decision?
Coronation Street: Debbie‘s Dementia Diagnosis Changes Everything
Debbie goes to the hospital pretending to have a meeting with Carl, evading Ronnie‘s lunch invitation. During her appointment, she gets the heartbreaking news that she has vascular dementia. The neurologist describes the condition and assures her that if she maintains a healthy lifestyle, she can keep living normally for the time being.
Tried to make sense of it all, Debbie insists Carl keep the diagnosis a secret – she‘s not prepared to break it to the rest of the family.
But when they are leaving the hospital, she‘s forced to confront the bleakness of her own future when she observes another patient afflicted by the condition.
Ronnie, unaware of any of this, excitedly tells Debbie he’s made an offer on Number 6. But Debbie, thinking she’s doing the right thing, ends their relationship. She later visits Ronnie to assure him he’s done nothing wrong and the decision wasn’t his fault.
Carla Exposes Betsy – But Lisa Isn’t Ready to Listen
Carla starts to suspect that Betsy is exaggerating the severity of her injuries, while Lisa is adamant that she needs to take time off work to attend to her. Her suspicions are indeed correct when she witnesses Betsy employing her allegedly injured hand to prepare lunch.
When Carla calls her out, Betsy’s reaction is furious. She leaps up and sends her plate of food flying across the flat as Lisa enters. Lisa waves it aside despite the clear evidence.
Later, when Tracy insists on being paid back for her swiped van, Carla insists that Betsy‘s contribution should come from her. The situation compels Lisa to choose whether she will continue to cover for her daughter or finally face reality.
Although Betsy is blamed for stealing Tracy’s van, the real culprit is Lauren, who is driving. She confesses to Bobby, saying she panicked and took off. But the confession doesn’t bring relief – someone knows what she did and has begun sending her threatening text messages.
Coronation Street: Gary Eyes a New Venture – But Maria Has Doubts
Trade is slack in the furniture store, and Gary confesses to Maria that he’s considering selling out and purchasing the builder’s yard instead. Maria is not enthused; they can‘t afford such an expensive gamble.
When Gary discusses it with Mick, Mick minimizes Maria‘s worries and advises him to do what‘s best for him. Later, Maria is disturbed to see Gary and Mick raising their glasses and toasting the notion.
Convinced to take charge, Maria informs Mick that employing him was a blunder and ensures he knows he‘s no longer welcome.
Meanwhile, as Maria tries to sort out her concerns about Mick, Liam has his phone stolen at the station. Things become heated as a pack of lads start bullying him. Mick turns up – but whether he intervenes or not is anyone’s guess.
Carl Surprises Abi With an Unexpected Kiss
Carl opens himself to Abi, confessing he wishes he‘d been around more in Kevin‘s life.
His sincerity moves Abi and reminds him she‘s glad to have him home. But this talk turns unexpectedly as Carl pulls her in for a kiss.
Eileen and George Hit Another Rough Patch
When Eileen falls in the kitchen, George lets her down by instructing Brian to take her to A&E because he’s too busy. Eileen is obviously not impressed, and things become worse when Julie turns up at The Rovers in her new wheelchair and confronts George.
Julie confronts him with some hard truths, reminding him to get more involved in his relationship or lose Eileen forever. George is left shaken and unsure of his position.
Coronation Street: Dee-Dee Steps Up for Ronnie and Baby Laila
