Coronation Street has another dramatic week ahead, with a shocking gun incident, growing relationship troubles, and a major opportunity that could take one Weatherfield resident away from home.
From Carl Webster’s dangerous secret to Maria Connor’s suspicions about Gary, here are the biggest spoilers for next week.
Betsy Receives A Life-Changing Opportunity in Coronation Street
Betsy Swain tells Lauren Bolton that she has been offered a place at the prestigious London College of Fashion. Although she is thrilled by the opportunity, she also worries about what it could mean for her relationship with Dylan. Betsy admits that she has not yet found the courage to tell her mum about the offer.
When Betsy finally shares the news with her family, Carla Connor-Swain is delighted and encourages her to grab the opportunity with both hands. Lisa’s reaction is much less positive, leaving Betsy unsure whether she will get the support she needs before making such a huge decision about her future.
Maria Thinks Gary Is Hiding Something
Maria Connor tells Fiz Dobbs and Izzy Armstrong that she is convinced Gary Windass is having an affair with Sarah Platt. Before long, the gossip spreads around Weatherfield, and Todd Grimshaw warns Sarah that Maria has become suspicious of her. With questions mounting, Sarah starts wondering whether it is finally time to tell the truth.
Meanwhile, Kit Green admits to Bethany Platt that he is thinking about proposing to Sarah. Later, Gary tries to ease the tension by booking a family holiday. Jake Windass, Liam Connor and Izzy are delighted by the surprise, but Maria remains unconvinced.
She tells Izzy that she believes the holiday is simply a guilty gesture from a cheating husband. At the same time, Kit proudly admires the engagement ring he has chosen for Sarah.
Brody Finds Himself in Danger in Coronation Street
Sean Tully refuses to serve Brody Michaelis, Dylan Wilson and Betsy in the Rovers because Brody is underage. The trio head to the precinct instead, but their day takes a bad turn when a group of older lads approaches them and demands the cans they have just bought.
Thinking quickly, Brody tells Dylan and Betsy to run while he leads the gang away from them. Fortunately, Debbie Webster, Sally Metcalfe, Bernie Winter-Alahan, Glenda Shuttleworth and Christina Boyd come across the confrontation and send the troublemakers packing. Elsewhere, Dev Alahan and Tim Metcalfe begin to worry when they cannot contact their wives and receive no replies to their messages.
Nick Turns On Ben
Nick Tilsley and Ben Driscoll find some common ground when they talk about the challenges they have faced while supporting their sons. However, the conversation leaves Nick shaken when he finally realises just how much Sam Blakeman has been suffering behind closed doors.
Overcome with anger, Nick lashes out at Ben and accuses him of failing to uncover paedophile Megan Walsh’s actions sooner. Nick insists that Sam has paid the price as a result. Later, Sam makes an emotional request when he tells his father that he would like to visit Roy Cropper.
A Gun Goes Off At Webster’s Autocentre
Kevin Webster gets the shock of his life when he borrows Tyrone Dobbs’s phone to watch a video of Ruby. While scrolling through the phone, he discovers footage showing Carl Webster tampering with the brakes on his car. Furious, Kevin confronts Carl and soon learns that Tyrone and Ronnie Bailey already knew what had happened. Refusing to let it go, Kevin grabs a wrench and advances towards Carl.
Carl responds by revealing the mysterious package he recently collected from Fiona Morley. To everyone’s horror, the package contains a gun. Later, Ronnie insists that nobody leaves until they settle their differences. Believing the weapon is fake, Kevin grabs it and points it at Carl. Ronnie rushes to stop him, but the gun suddenly fires. The men are left stunned as they wonder whether someone has been hit.
Debbie Struggles After The Shocking Incident
Following the gun drama, Fiona corners Carl and warns him that he has one week to do exactly as she says or face serious consequences. Debbie overhears the conversation and immediately demands answers, desperate to know what Carl has become involved in.
The terrifying events leave Debbie badly shaken. She starts having nightmares and relives the incident at the garage. Later, Tracy Barlow cruelly blames Debbie’s dementia when the pair clash over a flower order. Debbie then accidentally reveals the gender of a baby whose reveal party is being held at the hotel after spotting the information on a balloon order.
