We previously reported about actress Helen Worth stepping away from Corrie after a 50-year run on the soap. Coronation Street Spoilers now tease that a marriage storyline has been weaved into her grand exit as Gail Platt. Initially, the makers had a very different plan for Gail’s exit. However, due to actor Sean Wilson’s sudden departure, the original storyline had to be dropped.
The makers then roped John Thomson to reprise his role as Jesse Chadwick. Coronation Street spoilers recall that Jesse used to be Eileen Grimshaw’s love interest. However, that storyline was put to rest when John left the soap as a children’s entertainer. Now, the character has made his return to the Cobbles to be part of Gail’s exit story.
The recent spoilers reveal that Jesse and Gail met in Thailand years ago when she went there for a holiday. After spending some time together, the two became friends and remained in touch ever since. That’s how he found out about Brthany Platt’s recent nightmare surgery. Soon after, he hopped on a flight and arrived in Weatherfield to support Gail.
It is clear that Jesse and Gail have found love with each other. Moreover, the latest reports suggest that the makers have decided to give them a beautiful wedding. But will the affair go down smoothly? After all, this is Corrie we are talking about! Gail’s children are not really on the same page as her when it comes to Jessie. They have their reservations, and rightfully so.
