Latest Coronation Street spoilers hint at heartbreak for Lauren as Frankie goes through a hell lot of trouble and fears mount up for his parents. We all know how much Frankie had to go through – from beginning his life in an intensive care unit to staying away from his mom at such a vulnerable age. As if that wasn’t enough, now the little one has to go through yet another physical trauma. What has happened to baby Frankie that has almost broken down Lauren? Let’s see.
Gus and Anthea Are At It for Custody
As we know, Frankie is Joel and Lauren’s baby. Now that Joel has been murdered and Lauren is in prison for it, Max has been taking care of the baby. But now Gus and Anthea are back and are all in on claiming the baby. Their first encounter with Frankie and Max was when they came to invite Dee-Dee to Joel’s memorial. While Max took them back home and allowed them to spend time with the baby, they were gone without notice.
Later, we see how they even try to steal Frankie during a visit to the Platt house. However, they put him back before Max can figure it out. But when they returned with baby Frankie to the cobbles after Joel’s memorial, they warned Max, saying, “things have changed.” They even struck off the idea of keeping Frankie with his mom in prison on a mother-and-baby unit. While these things were already making Lauren anxious, she almost had a breakdown when the prison guards informed her about bruises on Frankie’s body and that he had been hospitalized.
Lauren’s Suspicions Grows
As soon as Lauren heard about the bruises on baby Frankie’s body, she suspected maybe Gus and Anthea had tried to cause him harm. But much to her surprise, the doctors informed her that the bruises were not from any trauma and maybe they were signs of an underlying disease. As doctors run more tests on the tot, Lauren is on the verge of having a serious breakdown.
Later, we see Gus and Anthea threaten Max and accuse him of harming Frankie. They even called the police on him, who took him out for an inquiry. While there are no major charges against Max, he later confides in his stepmom, Shona Platt, that he feels guilty about Frankie’s condition.
