The upcoming Coronation Street spoilers suggest a storm of challenges for Lauren Bolton as her trial for Joel’s murder unfolds. We all saw what Lauren had to go through since Joel’s murder – from confessing her crimes to having a major breakdown over Frankie’s health deterioration. Now, her gripping storyline will take center stage as she soon faces a series of questions from the prosecution barrister.
Lauren’s Turmoil Has No Ends
Lauren will face her trial regarding the murder of Joel Deering. Back in October, the victim’s body was found in the canal – though nobody had a clue who did it. After weeks-long trials, it was revealed that Lauren had murdered to save Max Turner’s life. Since then, Lauren has changed. She has tried to raise her son behind bars and even considered a guilty plea just for Frankie’s sake.
Ultimately, Lauren has pleaded not guilty to Joel’s murder. Though Lauren had doubts initially and confided in Max that she should plead guilty, Max finally convinced her. It was for Frankie’s sake that Lauren finally decided not to plead guilty and bring forth the torture she faced from Joel. However, the prosecution barrister is tough, and Lauren fears her past will get dug up in front of the whole court.
In the upcoming scenes, the barrister labels Lauren a “liar” and mentions her past to present his case. The defense counters these claims, creating a tense back-and-forth dynamic that keeps Lauren and her supporters, including Bobby and Nina, on edge. Meanwhile, life in prison only adds to Lauren’s emotional turmoil. Fellow inmate Brie cruelly taunts her, suggesting that her son would be better off without her.
