Billy Mayhew’s funeral takes over Coronation Street next week, and it leaves everyone on edge. Todd Grimshaw tries to get through the day, but Theo Silverton makes things even worse by pushing his guilt onto him. At the same time, Summer falls apart, Roy gets a shock about his pen pal, and trouble hits the street from every direction.
Theo’s Guilt Spills Out At Billy’s Farewell
Theo feels sick with guilt as Billy’s funeral gets closer, because he knows he played a part in Billy’s death. He goes to the Bishop for advice, and the Bishop tells him he shouldn’t blame himself and should talk to God. But Theo can’t calm down, and when George leaves him alone for a moment, he sneaks into the chapel of rest.
Theo stands over Billy’s coffin and apologises for letting him die, but a door slams and he panics, thinking someone heard him. Later, Debbie offers Todd £3,000 towards the funeral because she still feels responsible, but Theo sees them together and lashes out until Carl steps in. At the church service, Todd breaks down during his eulogy, and Theo then speaks too, using the moment to make Todd feel even more guilty.
Summer’s Grief Pushes Her To Breaking Point
Summer feels relieved when Kit manages to get her stolen rucksack back from the police station. She feels even better when she realises her share of Paul’s ashes is still inside. But losing both her dads so close together hits her again, and she starts struggling badly.
While working at the corner shop, Summer steals alcohol from the fridge and ends up drunk behind the counter. Roy calls in at Alahan’s to buy sweets on his way to meet his pen pal Alice, but he finds Summer in a mess and raises the alarm. Later, Bernie visits Summer and tells her she has a plan for Paul’s ashes.
Roy’s “Romance” Takes A Shocking Turn
Roy tells Mary he sent Alice flowers to apologise after everything that happened with Summer, and he thinks things are okay again. He believes Alice has forgiven him, and he tries to move on from the awkward moment.
But then a man in his 50s turns up at the café and introduces himself as Mal—Alice’s husband. Roy has no choice but to explain himself, and he quickly realises Alice has been hiding a huge secret from him.
Sam Starts Connecting The Dots On Will And Megan
Sam grows suspicious when Leanne shows Megan a boy’s tracksuit top she found at the flat, and Megan quickly claims it belongs to Daniel. He doesn’t believe her, and he corners Will to ask if something is going on between Leanne and their teacher. Will laughs it off and acts like Sam is being silly.
Sam later spots the tracksuit top in Will’s sports bag, and that makes him even more sure something is wrong. Will rushes home to warn Megan they need to be careful, and Megan later tries to intercept Sam while he’s doing homework at Speed Daal to stop him from digging further.
Coronation Street: Abi And Shona Try To Steer Jodie Away From Carl
Abi notices Carl getting close to Jodie and decides to step in before it goes too far. She warns Jodie to stay away from Carl, saying he’s bad news and will only cause trouble.
Shona also gets involved and backs Abi up, telling Jodie that Carl had an affair with James behind Abi’s back. She also reminds her that Abi and Carl’s relationship started because of cheating too, so Jodie should think twice before trusting him.
Ryan’s Shift Turns Into A Nightmare At Chariot Square
Ryan faces real danger when two masked robbers barge into the Chariot Square reception and demand he opens the safe. They threaten him with a claw hammer, and Ryan freezes because he doesn’t know what to do.
After they grab the money, the robbers start attacking him, and Ryan begs them to stop. Just then, Carl arrives, and Ryan’s only hope is that Carl can step in before the situation turns deadly.
Coronation Street: Bernie Spirals After The Funeral
After the funeral, Bernie takes her anger out on Dev and says some awful things to him. She then goes to bed with a bottle of wine, but the next day she hits the bottle again and goes out drinking with Gemma, Sally, Glenda, and Christina. She knocks back shots and then says she’s going home.
Instead, Bernie ends up at the Chariot Square bar, downs another shot, and orders whisky. Mal joins her and admits his wife has been having an affair, and he wants to drown his sorrows. Ryan can see Bernie has had too much and asks her to leave, but Mal invites her up to his room, and the next day Dev panics when she doesn’t come home.
Coronation Street: Kevin’s Struggles Become Impossible To Ignore
Abi heads to the garage and feels shocked when she finds Kevin asleep in a customer’s car. He looks unwell and clearly not like himself, and Abi can tell he’s not coping.
Abi speaks to Debbie about it, and the two women talk about Kevin’s recent setbacks. They agree he isn’t looking after himself or the business anymore, and they both worry things could get worse if nobody steps in soon. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers.
