In a tense episode, we saw David, Shona, and Max discussing their mounting troubles with Harvey, who continues to demand the stolen money. As the threats escalated, the family wondered their limited options and right then, something that David had said, made us all quite curious. Read out to find out more about it.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Who’s Behind The Fire?
In the recent episode, during a conversation at Nick’s Bistro, David floated an idea under his breath-“What other choice do we have short of burning it down and claiming on insurance?”. While Shona didn’t take him seriously and asked him not to joke—David insisted, “Who said I was joking?”. Next up, Max was particularly intrigued, and the same reaction surfaced among the fans. We can’t help but speculate if Max is the one who will take action after David’s remark.
Meanwhile, another suspicious moment saw David secretly meeting with Andy. Andy is one of his old prison acquaintances, whom David was asking for an unspecified favour. Could this mysterious favour somehow be connected to the house fire? Elsewhere, Leanne Battersby is also thrown into the mix as a potential suspect. She is later seen near the Platt house, holding an empty bottle. Is she somehow responsible for the lit rag through the letterbox?
A Devastating Explosion
The fire will take hold of the Platt house next week. The next-door neighbour, Sally Metcalfe, raises the alarm after smelling smoke while the family rushes. With fears that Lily Platt might still be stuck inside—Shona, Max, and Nick make a desperate jump into the burning house. Nick soon discovers Toyah unconscious on the floor, while Max and Shona move on to the upper floors to look for Lily. Just as Lily’s safety is confirmed, Shona jumps out to find David, who is nowhere to be seen.
Max finds himself trapped inside the house as the fire intensifies, and he fails to escape. As if things couldn’t get worse—the next moment, the entire house explodes with Max in it. As emergency services arrive, it’s confirmed that Toyah has suffered a smoke inhalation along with a severe head wound. Then, we see Max’s lifeless body pulled out of the wreckage.
As PC Kit Green confirms next that the fire was an act of arson, David becomes convinced that it’s possibly Logan’s doings. But we can’t overlook Leanne as well because there’s a box of matches in her bag. So, who could have done it? Only the upcoming Coronation Street spoilers can reveal.
