Coronation Street spoilers hint at stormy days ahead for Leanne Battersby as her plans may soon backfire. As viewers, we already saw how desperate Leanne has been to frame Toyah. She came up with a series of plans to avenge Toyah and Nick for carrying on their romance under her nose. Though she kept her innocent face all along, her plans were always on point.
In recent episodes, we have seen Leanne get back at her sister – trying to make her jealous, ruining her holidays, and framing her up for fraud. But her plans finally reach a conclusion in the Monday episode. In that episode, we finally see the police come in to arrest Toyah for fraud. Leanne had already dug the grave up for Toyah – by opening a bank account and transferring funds from the Bistro’s business account.
Toyah-Nick Join the Dots
Toyah finally gets arrested on suspicion of theft and fraud regarding the Bistro account. Obviously, Leanne seems very happy, though she doesn’t show it. But little did she know that her happiness was short-lived. While the police questioned her, Toyah wondered who could have known so many personal details about her to put in the fake account. These pieces of information were almost impossible for an outsider, or even Nick, to know about her.
Just then, DC Kit Green mentioned that the password of her fake account was “Rose2001” – and within seconds, Toyah figured out it was Leanne. After all, they grew up with each other! It almost shocked her to think about the lengths Leanne had stooped to bring her down. Her first instinct was to confide in Nick and assure him she would never steal. But Nick seemed confused and didn’t know who to believe. Later, we see Nick back Leanne up and clarify that he is done with Toyah.
Nick Played Leanne
All the encouragement, backup, and breakdown Nick did in front of Leanne were part of Nick and Toyah’s bigger plan. After shooing Toyah off from the Bistro, we see Nick coming into a hotel room to see Toyah, and it seems like the pair is still very much together. Now, Nick and Toyah are ready to declare a secret war against Leanne and trick her into an ultimate bust-up.
We see Nick raging as he vows to play Leanne at her own game. Toyah, though she seems hurt, agrees with Nick to avenge Leanne. We don’t know – but will Toyah be able to prove herself innocent and avenge Leanne? Let’s wait for the upcoming Coronation Street spoilers and see how things go ahead.
