This week, the Coronation Street spoilers for the Christmas and New Year are here to take the ground off your feel. While David’s suspicion of Shona grows, we still can’t determine if Gail will have a happy or a sad exit from the cobbles. We see Daniel popping out a proposal, whereas Daisy and Kit’s relationship is possibly taking a backseat. It seems like this time, it will be a dramatic end of the year and even a more heated-up New Year.
December 23 to December 27
December 23 – 1 hour episode, at 8 PM
On December 23, there will be an hour-long episode, which will start with the drama triangle of Nick, Toyah, and Leanne and will also include Dee-Dee and Lauren’s crisis. Carla-Lisa goes public, but Betsy isn’t interested in it. David and Jesse’s panics make Gail suspicious – and last but not least, Kit and Daisy’s relationship seems to take a hit.
Toyah in Trouble; Lauren in Dilemma
Nick returns from Tenerife when Leanne tells him about what has happened. Once he finds the discrepancy in payments, he calls the bank to freeze their account. While Toyah arrives and seems excited to see Nick, her happiness is short-lived. DC Kit Green soon arrives and arrests her for theft and fraud by abuse of trust. Later, Toyah tries to join the dots and is able to figure out Leanne’s motives.
Elsewhere, Dee-Dee asks for an update on Lauren’s plea hearing from Alya Nazir while the pregnant solicitor enquires with a genetic counselor regarding tests to see if the baby can be a genuine donor. However, Lauren gets a warning that if she pleads not guilty, the case will go to trial, and that might bring back her past trauma. On the other hand, we see Max Turner urging Lauren about the consequences of pleading guilty as Frankie grows up learning that his mom killed his dad.
Betsy Is Sarcastic; Jesse & David Panics – Kit & Daisy Hits Roadblock
All of a sudden, Lisa discovers a picture of Mason on social media from Betsy’s room and confronts her. To cover it up, Betsy gets back at Carla with a sarcastic remark later when she announces their relationship in the factory.
On another note, Jesse tells David about the laundered cash but hides it from Gail. However, Jesse panics and lies to Gail, saying he has asked David to book their honeymoon in the Maldives. Audrey is still at it, threatening Gail that she will never see her again. Back in the Rovers, Kit and Daisy go out for dinner in Speed Daal, but they feel awkward as Daniel and Bethany get to the next table for dinner as well.
December 24 – 30-minutes episode; 8:45 pm
Though it’s Gail and Jesse’s farewell party, the tensions seem to reach a height at the Rovers among the Platt clan. Audrey hasn’t given up yet – and still tries to break off Gail and Jesse. Later, Gail experiences a ghostly visit in her dreams from her past (hint: it’s one of her husbands). Who can it be? And what’s the significance of the dream sequence now? Will this somehow interfere with Gail’s exit?
David Suspects Shona; Leanne Is Furious
Later, Debbie tries to invite Shona to her New Year’s Eve party, but Shona is hardly interested. Then, Debbie teases her about how she is enjoying her nights at the hotel, which makes David suspect her – though he hears only the tail-end of the conversation.
In the meantime, we see Leanne trying to sneak into Nick’s briefcase and get furious when she finds a wrapped gift for Toyah. Out of frustration, Leanne takes all the expensive gifts the pair exchanged and shows them to Craig Tinker, ensuring he believes the pair is in this scam together.
December 25 – 1-hour episode, 7 pm
It’s Christmas Day, and Gail and Jesse’s wedding is scheduled, but we are still not sure if it will be a happy ending for her. Elsewhere, David is again suspecting Shona when he doesn’t see the aftershave in the gift box that he saw in her bag earlier. However, he misunderstands the whole scenario and thinks Adam is sleeping with Shona. He goes on to avenge Adam and tries to knock him down the stairs.
Leanne-Toyah Fights; Daniel Proposes
Meanwhile, Toyah helps Nick set up for Gail’s wedding at the Bistro. But as the wedding begins, police step in to question the pair about the fraud allegation. When asked about proof, Kit shows Nick the account from TLH Holdings. Though both try to prove they are innocent, later, Leanne and Toyah’s argument escalates into a fight—Max films it.
Lastly, Daniel is happy when Bethany dresses up for the wedding. However, things get bad when Daniel doesn’t seem happy with her Christmas gift, and Beth accuses him of not being in love anymore. Right then, he brings out a ring, gets on his knees, and pops the question, “Will you marry me?”
December 27 – 1-hour episode, 8 pm
Amy Accuses Nick; Bethany Apologizes
Nick starts digging up proof against Leanne after seeking advice from Adam and Alya, but Toyah tries to make peace by saying they never tried to harm her. On another note, Amy Barlow accuses Nick of flirty texts when he was in Tenerife. It turns out that it was Leanne with two phones from the CCTV footage.
Next, we see Kit and Daisy going for a walk. However, Bethany comes back to thank Daisy for taking care of her clothes and says she wants them back now that she feels confident. We see Ken unboxing a gift from Cassie, his carer. He is very happy to receive one of his favorite albums. Ken also reciprocates with a scarf from Porto.
December 30 to January 3
December 30 – 1-hour episode, 8 pm
Kit & David’s Tussle; Leanne’s Charges; Cassie’s Debt and Carla’s Clue
On December 30, we see Kit and David getting into a tussle as David finds out Kit and Shona’s secret. When David returns, Max and Lily question and Shona explains why he blocked her contact with Clayton in prison. However, David tries to make Kit confess without taking the law into his own hands. Leanne heads back to the flat while Nick and Toyah monitor her. But when Toyah thinks Leanne may be up for trial, she asks Nick to drop the charges against her. On another note, Lauren calls Max from prison and admits her fears regarding the trial.
Elsewhere, Steve tells Ken that he plans to move out while Cassie bursts into tears about how she has racked up a huge debt to get Christmas gifts for her family. Next up, we see a stressed Lisa revealing that there is a pipe burst that has flooded the flat. Later, when Carla and Betsy visit and stay for New Year, Carla spots one of Becky’s murder clues among Lisa’s things.
December 31 – 30-minutes episode; 8:15 pm
Carla Surprises Lisa; Evelyn Goes for Law
In the next episode, Carla surprises Lisa by taking her on a romantic lunch at the cafe. However, Carla is called for urgent backup at the same address. Next, we see Lisa with a split lip and a bruised face. Later, during the midnight countdown, Carla discloses that she loves Lisa. Next, Kit and David’s plot heats up when Kit informs him that he’s back on the Radcliffe brothers’ hit list. In the meantime, Shona calls the salon and suggests David for a board game evening – when Audrey advises him to put his family first.
We also see Ken showing interest in going to the ballet, but later, he clarifies to Cassie that he feels very exhausted. Elsewhere, we see Evelyn complaining about how her life lacks purpose, and that’s when Roy suggests that she get a law degree. In a turn of events, Leanne bumps into Nick, Sam, and Toyah, who seem to be going out of town to celebrate Nick’s birthday.
January 1 – 1-hour episode, 7 pm
Carla is Hospitalized; Mason & Betsy Gets Romantic
On New Year’s Day, Roy becomes concerned about Carla, who looks confused and does strange things. At the hospital, the doctor confirms Carla’s sepsis. However, Lisa is unaware and follows Matty and confronts him. Later, she returns home with wine and flowers, but Carla is a no-show.
Next, Tracy and Steve are shocked to find Cassie in Ken’s dressing gown. She clarified that she had to stay because Steve was out for a night shift. Ken feels sorry for her but has no idea about her games. We are happy to see Evelyn fill out the online university form as she finally plans to study law. Later, Dylan finds Mason cooking a meal for Betsy, which surprises her, given the romantic setup.
January 3 – 1-hour episode, 8 pm
Carla is Shocked; Evelyn Panics
The week winds up with Mason and Betsy fighting over a text from Stu Carpenter on Mason’s phone. Stu instantly asks him to cut all ties with Betsy, and Mason has to answer. Lisa shows Mason some pictures that were taken at Becky’s murder scene, saying that it was his brothers who hit Becky – leaving him shocked. Later, Carla is shocked to get the news from the doctor that she has sepsis, which has damaged her kidney – and she might need a transplant. Later, she ends up hurting Lisa. We then see Hope Dobbs and Joseph Brown filming prank videos with Tyrone in them, where they swapped the cereal sugar for salt and then posted it on social media.
Elsewhere, Evelyn gets panicked when she gets scheduled for an interview, and the woman turns out to be the one with whom she forged her identity at the Chariot Square law lecture. Next up, Tracy seems to be pissed at Cassie regarding her advance wages and asks Steve not to leave Ken alone as she has no faith in Tracy. Lastly, we see Daisy handing over a bag of Bertie’s toys and telling Daniel it’s better if she cuts all ties with her. There’s no shortage of Coronation Street spoilers, and we can’t get enough.
