A beloved Coronation Street star who played Nick Tilsley has been flooded with support from fans after a sad personal loss. Away from Weatherfield, the actor shared an emotional update that showed how difficult the past few weeks have been. The response from fans made it clear how much he is still loved.
A Corrie Star Fans Have Followed for Years
Adam Rickitt joined Coronation Street in 1997 as Nick Tilsley and quickly became a well-known face on the cobbles. Viewers watched his character grow, and many still remember his time on the show with affection. His connection with fans stayed strong even after he left. Adam left the soap in 1999 to focus on his music career but returned from 2002 to 2004.

After leaving for good, he continued acting and appeared in Hollyoaks and the BBC drama Doctors, keeping him familiar to soap fans. Fans have also followed Adam’s life away from acting. He is married to Katy Rickitt, who appears on Good Morning Britain. The couple met in 2011 during an interview and married in December 2014, often sharing moments from their life together.
Fans Rally After a Heartbreaking Loss
In December, Adam and Katy faced a devastating loss when their beloved dog Daphne passed away. The couple later shared that the loss came as a shock and left them heartbroken. Daphne had been a huge part of their family life. Earlier this month, Katy shared that they had laid Daphne’s ashes to rest. She said they chose Tatton Park, a place filled with memories from family walks, to say goodbye.

Katy explained that Daphne’s ashes were placed under the same tree as Rufus, their other dog. She said Daphne rests at the base of the tree while Rufus is remembered in the branches. She also shared that the clouds formed the letter “D” as they left, which brought them comfort. They like to think Daphne is now at peace and reunited with Rufus until they meet again.
