Coronation Street Star Sally Lindsay Celebrates A Special Honour
Sally is one such star who has stayed close to people’s hearts. Her journey as Shelley Unwin is still fresh in the minds of the people who have followed her. However, she has achieved something bigger. Her name is present in the King’s New Year Honours List. And it has been an emotional moment for her and her fans. Fans would recall the years when she was a part of their screens.
Sally is now a member of the Order of the British Empire. And it is solely for her work in drama. She also revealed what she felt. She said she wanted to stand for working-class actors who have yet to find their place. Furthermore, she wants more people from her background to achieve that name in the industry.

Fans who have seen her on the street would understand that tone. This was a reminder to the fans of how she had worked extremely hard to reach that point. In addition to that, she has also volunteered her time for Demelza Hospice Care. It is a charity that provides support to children with serious illnesses.
The Honours List Also Shines Light On Others From The Region
Not only was Sally included from the region this year, but also Bernard Morgan. The 99-year-old gentleman, a veteran of World War 2, is honoured with an MBE. He was eager to be a pilot. However, circumstances did not turn out as he expected. During a test flight, he became ill. And so he had to stay on the ground. However, soon someone learnt that he could type. He then began typing daily orders. He even typed a call for volunteers for the Code and Cypher unit.

Bernard further put his own name on the list and passed the interview. In fact, on D Day, he arrived in Normandy on Gold Beach. He travelled with a Bedford truck. It had a large cypher machine that was used to decode orders. For more Coronation Street spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
