‘I Adore That Man’ Corrie Star Expresses His Love For On-Screen Husband
Daniel Brocklebank is in all praise for his co-star Peter Ash as they continue to bring Paul’s motor neurone disease struggle to life. It’s pretty evident that Paul is dying. However, the soap is yet to reveal when we’ll say goodbye to him. Amidst it all, Billy has been there for him throughout.
At the RadioTimes.com Soap Awards, Brocklebank recently shared, “Well, I adore that man.” He admitted that he will greatly miss his on-screen partner. He stated that they have a great rapport and praised Ash’s ‘astonishing’ performance. The soap star expressed, “I’m gonna miss him terribly.”

He acknowledged that Billy, his character, will be deeply affected by Paul’s death. He highlighted that losing one’s husband and the love of one’s life is never easy for anyone. Additionally, the ITV star has previously shared his personal experience with motor neurone disease, particularly after his grandfather’s death from the condition.
For the past 23 years, he has also patronised the MND Association. Reflecting on his career, the Corrie star mentioned that in his 30 years of acting, he had never portrayed something so closely related to his own life experiences. Also, he admired the show’s research and writing teams for their outstanding work.
He added, “I’m very proud to be able to represent the MND community in this way – but it’s been difficult. And Peter Ash is incredible.” We’ll have to see how the show concludes this story and how Winter-Browns deal with Paul’s death.
