Charlotte, 29, agreed to exit Coronation Street back in April after a four-year stint playing strong-willed co-pub owner Daisy Midgeley. Referring to leaving, she said it was time to “open a new page and seek fresh horizons” before continuing to compliment her work on the soap, saying she’d “learned so much” and been able to do it because of the “fab people” around her.
It‘s confirmed that Charlotte has already shot through her last scenes, indicating Daisy‘s departure might reach screens in the coming two months. Although her ultimate plotline hasn‘t been unveiled, recent scenes reveal Daisy facing intense stress. She recently lost her unborn child in a horrific accident. She also learned that her step-mum, Jenny, has inherited illicit cash but not spent it on paying off their increasing debts.

At the same time, tension appears to increase further with the news of Daisy‘s mother, Christina Boyd, returning to the street. In spite of her soap departure, Charlotte is staying true to Corrie’s roots with a new venture. She is joining forces with co-star Sally Ann Matthews, who portrays her on-screen step-mum Jenny Connor. The duo are set to fly out to Canada to mark Coronation Street’s 65th anniversary with fans.
Corrie has a loyal fanbase in Canada, where the series is broadcast on CBC, the national broadcaster. Various cast members have made the trip for meet-and-greet tours over the years. Now, Charlotte and Sally Ann are carrying on that tradition. The news was announced in a video posted to Facebook, with the actresses standing behind the bar of the Rovers Return.
Sally Ann grinned as she said, “Hi Canada, guess what? We’re coming out to see you! We’re coming to Canada to help celebrate Corrie’s 65th anniversary with you guys.” Charlotte replied enthusiastically, saying they “can’t wait to meet you all.” She also joked that they would bring “all the gossip we hear.” While the fans still have a few weeks left with Daisy on TV, this tour of Canada can potentially provide viewers overseas with a special chance to bond with two of the show’s most popular performers.
