The actor will host weekly workshops in Manchester for kids aged 11 and 18. Here, he will assist them in honing their skills in improvisation, character creation, and script breaking down.
Toolan posted the news on Instagram through the Bee Rogue Talent page, where he declared himself excited about the new venture. His classes will be conducted on Wednesdays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and interested parties can sign up by email to be added to the waiting list. The ex-Corrie actor revealed he was “super excited“ to start teaching and keeps himself “as busy as possible“ following Mason’s dark end on the show.
Coronation Street: Looking Back on His Departure
As he begins his new chapter as an acting coach, Toolan also looked back on his soap’s exit plotline. His character, Mason, was embroiled in a dramatic stabbing storyline that addressed real-life issues. In an interview regarding his departure, Toolan acknowledged that he had a “mix of feelings.”
“Of course, when I first heard, there was a mixture of emotions. Because I was sad that Mason was going to die, that meant I would be leaving. But equally, I was excited and honored to be part of this storyline. Because it’s an incredibly important issue that needs to be tackled,” he shared.
