Millie Gibson has shared a worrying update that left fans both shocked and relieved at the same time. The former Coronation Street star revealed she had to be rushed into emergency surgery after sudden stomach pain, and the whole situation unfolded much faster than anyone would expect.
A Sudden Health Scare That Escalated Within Hours
Millie, 21, took to Instagram to explain what really happened. She said she does not usually post about personal health issues, but this time she felt it was important to spread awareness.
She shared that on Thursday afternoon, she went to A&E after feeling what she described as abnormal stomach pain. At that point, she had no idea what was causing it and did not have any warning signs earlier.

Later that same evening, doctors confirmed it was appendicitis. They quickly arranged surgery for the next morning, showing just how serious the situation had become within a few hours.
Millie also explained that the pain came out of nowhere. She said she had no prior symptoms and that everything developed within an hour. She urged people to pay attention to their bodies and not ignore sudden changes.
A Crucial Decision That Prevented Something Worse
One key moment made all the difference. Millie revealed that someone advised her to go to A&E, and that decision likely saved her from something much worse.
She shared that if she had not gone to get checked, her appendix could have ruptured. That could have led to serious complications, so acting quickly was extremely important.

Many fans still remember Millie for her role as Kelly Neelan on Coronation Street, where she appeared from 2019 to 2022. Her character was involved in some intense and emotional storylines that kept viewers hooked.
After leaving Coronation Street, Millie moved on to bigger projects. She joined Doctor Who as Ruby Sunday, starring alongside Ncuti Gatwa’s Fifteenth Doctor. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more behind-the-scenes updates from Coronation Street.
