Coronation Street Star Sherrie Steps Back Due To Sudden Illness
Sherrie Hewson was going on Vanessa Feltz’s Channel 5 show. She was going to talk about her podcast and her work. Moreover, everything had been arranged for the January 5 appearance. However, she got the winter illness on the same morning. At 75, she still tried to continue with her schedule. However, she couldn’t react to the studio. She had to return home before she could reach the set.
Insider revealed that Sherrie was upset with herself for having to cancel at the last minute. She certainly intended to be there and was not willing to disappoint the team. But at present, she is inclined to recuperate and take it easy. She definitely wants to return to her usual routine. She even wishes that Vanesa would invite her once again when she is fine and ready to return.

Her new podcast, Very Very Sherrie, was launched in 2025. It opens a conversation with celebrity guests. She also speaks about her long career and her experiences. She has been building the podcast and also connects with people through it. Moreover, she hopes for a Benidorm revival. Her character Joyce Temple-Savage is close to her heart. She played the Solana hotel manager from 2012 to 2018.
Talks Of A Benidorm Revival Continue
People have mentioned Benidorm coming back for a while. In April 2025, Derren Litten said he spoke to ITV about doing more episodes. However, he said that no official commission has been made. ITV has not confirmed any new series or a special yet. However, it could happen in the coming weeks or months.

Litten said they had been speaking recently, and even if nothing was locked in, there is still hope. And he wants fans to watch it closely because things could change.
