There’s a huge change ahead for both the Rovers Return and one of Weatherfield’s younger residents in Coronation Street. While the pub prepares for a new chapter, Lauren Bolton is facing personal struggles of her own, and Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren, has now given fans a glimpse of what’s to come.
Lauren Struggles With Trust
Lauren recently learned that her boyfriend Aadi Alahan was behind her accidental spiking at a party. The shock left her furious, especially as she had trusted him as a friend. Since then, she’s made it clear she wants him to pay for the betrayal. But cracks are showing in her anger. In the latest episode, she began to listen to Aadi’s heartfelt apologies.

Cait Fitton explained that Lauren might be able to trust again, though it won’t happen quickly. She felt that if Aadi had admitted the truth sooner, Lauren would still have been angry but may have found a way to move past it. She hinted this setback will be another hurdle for her character, but she will eventually overcome.
Coronation Street: Rovers Return Welcomes Eva
While Lauren’s trust is broken, the Rovers Return itself is preparing for a huge change. Producers revealed earlier this month that Catherine Tyldesley is back as Eva Price. She’ll step in to take over the pub following Jenny Connor’s decision to step down as landlady. Eva isn’t returning on her own. She’ll be at the heart of a new family arriving on the cobbles, including her partner Ben Driscoll and his mother Maggie.

Cait Fitton admitted she was thrilled to work with Catherine. Speaking during the Inside Soap Awards photoshoot, she said Eva had been one of her favourite characters growing up, and she had admired Catherine since she was a little girl. She described her as both talented and lovely, and admitted she felt some pressure but was eager to see how Eva and Lauren’s relationship would unfold.
