Billy Mayhew is going through a storm on Coronation Street these days. Paul Foreman’s sad passing has hit him hard and he is absolutely devastated. Currently, he is locking horns with his mother-in-law on a regular basis over their difference of opinion when it comes to Paul’s funeral arrangement.
While Billy wants a traditional affair, Bernie has some really radical ideas. However, in tonight’s episode (October 2, 2024) Billy arranges an old-fashioned church service for his husband’s funeral. What’s all the more distressing is that service is happening on the day that ideally should have marked their first anniversary celebrations.
The day that is already stressful for Billy becomes all the more worrisome when he notices Paul’s troublesome father Denny lurking around the church on Coronation Street. A concerned Billy marches over to him and warns him to be on his best behavior and not create any sort of scene or commotion during the service.
“To film it was incredibly emotional. It’s Corrie, so the fans can expect it to be moving, humorous, a bit of drama,” Daniel Brocklebank (Billy) told Digital Spy. Speaking about Denny’s unexpected arrival at the service, Daniel jokingly addressed his on-screen father-in-law as ” Naughty Denny”.

Furthermore, Daniel added that Billy’s entire focus is on the harrowing reality that he’s about to bury his husband on what would have been their wedding anniversary. So, understandably, he is a little irritated by Denny’s surprise arrival. He does not want anything to go wrong, and Paul’s father just cannot be trusted.
“I don’t know how much I can say without spoiling it, but it causes issues, let’s just say that!” the Corrie actor concluded. Hmm, so we can expect some high-voltage drama courtesy of Denny it seems!
