No shave November has moved aside and made space for a much more poignant Movember. Coronation Street star, Jack James Ryan, is wholeheartedly supporting the movement. For the unversed, Movember is a charity that aims to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, including suicide prevention, and prostate and testicular cancer. Reports suggest that 45% of the 2,000 British adults polled have been affected by the aforementioned.
Jack James Ryan has lent his support to the cause, as he feels personally connected to it. He opened up about receiving his cancer diagnosis at the exceptionally young age of 19.
“As someone who’s personally been through the challenge of testicular cancer, I can’t stress enough how important it is to openly talk about men’s health,” The Coronation Street star said.
As the actor reflected on the journey he had to make, he recalled the feeling of isolation, fear, and vulnerability that came with his diagnosis. “It was to find others who understood what I was going through,” Jack said, asserting that this is exactly why Movember means so much to him. It helps make space for people to have real conversations about men’s mental and physical health.
The Corrie actor who is popular for essaying Jacob Hay on the ITV soap is joining ranks with many other British stars from TV, music, sports, and social media, to support the cause this November. As part of the cause, Jack has grown his mustache and was seen sporting it at events.

However, he clarified that people don’t have to grow a tache if it’s not for them. There are many other ways to join the movement. Everyone can come up with their own version of the Movember challenge. The main part is to raise awareness and hold conversations that actually matter. We are absolutely thrilled and moved in equal parts that our beloved Jack is taking these social causes so seriously. We wish him more power.
