Soap legend Nigel Havers has hinted that his infamous character, Lewis Archer, could return to Weatherfield despite being officially dead. Lewis was last seen meeting a dramatic end from a heart attack in 2019. But recently, Havers dropped a tantalising hint that he might return to the cobbles. But the question is how? Read on to find out!
Did Lewis Archer Fake His Death?
Nigel Havers has teased that his character might come back to the ITV show. But viewers must know that Lewis Archer is supposed to be dead. He was a sly conman who first appeared in 2009 and tricked Audrey Roberts and Peter Barlow out of a lot of money.
Now, the soap star on Good Morning Britain talked about his new role in Channel 5’s Sandringham: A Royal Residence. Meanwhile, Hosts Ed Balls and Ranvir Singh wrapped up their discussion by reminiscing about the actor’s time on Corrie. The host commented on how they cover everything from politics to the Royals.
She highlighted that they usually discuss Cobbles as well. The ITV star responded, “We always talk about Corrie. You never know I may come back!” Ranvir enthusiastically agreed. But before she could ask more, Ed jumped in, saying it was time to move on to the next part of the show.
During his tenure, Lewis once pretended to be his twin brother, Hugh, before Audrey until Gail Platt caught him. Moreover, on New Year’s Day 2019, Lewis dramatically died of a heart attack. Back in 2019, the icon hinted that he could potentially return to the soap as Lewis ‘twin brother.’
He mentioned that Lewis had a twin brother living in Australia. Even the presenter also speculated that Lewis might have faked his death. Did he? Well, we never know! It’ll be fun to watch if the character actually returns. Till then, for more updates on Coronation Street, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily! Do you have any theories regarding Lewis’ comeback?
