Steve and Tracy McDonald have been on a rocky road for a while now, with their divorce dragging on longer than expected. But next week on Coronation Street, Tracy tries to be clever with a surprise, only to get blindsided by something she absolutely wasn’t ready for.
Tracy Plays Games With the Divorce
Steve has been pushing Tracy to finally sign the divorce papers, but she’s clearly been stalling. Now that her fling with Tommy Orpington is well and truly over, she doesn’t seem so sure about letting Steve go. A show insider shared that Tracy’s the type who often wants what she can’t have, and she’s been dragging her heels on purpose.
So when she suggests meeting at the pub to go over the papers, Steve agrees, thinking they’re going to finally sort things out. But Tracy has other plans. Instead of a serious chat, she turns it into a surprise birthday gathering for Steve. Maybe she thinks it’ll soften him up or rekindle something. Either way, it doesn’t land how she hoped.
Steve’s Moving On in Coronation Street
Steve doesn’t look too thrilled about the surprise. In fact, he makes a quick exit from the party. Tracy follows him, with Amy by her side, only to walk into a sight that stops her in her tracks, Steve and Cassie Plummer getting very cosy.
Tracy walks in on the two of them kissing, and it’s clear things have been heating up behind the scenes. According to our source, Tracy couldn’t have picked someone worse than Cassie for Steve to end up with. The two women have never seen eye to eye, and this is bound to sting. Later on, Steve tells Cassie he’s serious about her and that as far as he’s concerned, they’re now officially a couple.
To make it crystal clear, he kisses her again, right in the middle of The Rovers, for everyone to see. This new romance is sure to shake things up, especially with Tracy involved. She may not want Steve back enough to stop the divorce, but seeing him move on first (and with Cassie, no less) could definitely light a fire.
Given Tracy’s history and her tendency to stir the pot when she doesn’t get her way, it wouldn’t be surprising if she makes life difficult for the new couple.
