Things are shifting quietly on Coronation Street for Aadi Alahan, and with his upcoming exit confirmed, a new storyline could mark the beginning of his final chapter. While Aadi’s been keeping things running at the corner shop, someone’s about to nudge him out of his routine—and not everyone’s sure what it might lead to.
Aadi Holds the Fort Down for Dev
Aadi has been keeping business running smoothly at home while Dev is away in India tending to his injured aunt over the past few weeks. Dev was called out to India when his aunt broke a rib in a fall down the stairs in their hometown, so it has been down to Aadi to keep things running smoothly in Weatherfield.
Dev’s fiancée Bernie Winter has also been pitching in to help look after Aadi and his sister. But even with the shop ticking along, Aadi’s been missing a bit of fun. According to Coronation Street insiders, things have started to look a little too grown-up for the teen, until Bernie picks up on it.

Later on, Bernie catches a conversation between Aadi, Amy Barlow and Summer Spellman. She hears a concern and teases that Aadi is middle-aged before his time. She tells him to shut the shop early and let loose for once.
Following her suggestion, Aadi and his pals agree to host a party. It’s not the side of Aadi we get to see often. But the timing keeps fans guessing, is this the beginning of something greater prior to his ultimate departure? A Corrie rep revealed that Aadi hasn’t had much to get excited about in his life of late, he’s been keeping the fort up while Dev’s been off.
Is This Just a Party… Or Something More
While this storyline begins light-heartedly, it may pave the way for Aadi’s goodbye. Actor Adam Hussain confirmed back in April that he’s leaving Coronation Street after five years in the role, and viewers have been waiting to see how the show will wrap up Aadi’s journey.
With his party looming and Dev still overseas, there’s scope for drama, surprises or even a farewell of tears. For the time being, all we have to go on is that this plot begins with a party. But as Coronation Street devotees will recall all too clearly, a night out can lead to something rather more significant.
