After a shopkeeper hurled vile comments about Kit’s birth mum Bernie Winter, teenage Kit wanted revenge. Egged on by Mick, he lit a firework and posted it through the shop’s letterbox. But things spiralled fast, someone was inside.
As screams erupted, Kit panicked and fled, leaving Mick to face the consequences. Mick was arrested and sent to a Secure Training Centre, while Kit walked free and built a career in the police.
To make things even more confusing, it came out that Lou had a fling with Kit while Mick was in jail. That one-night stand? It’s about to come back with a bang.
Kit Begins to Connect the Dots in Coronation Street
In more recent scenes, Kit discovered Mick, Lou, and adolescent tearaway Brody having dinner at Speed Daal. Upon hearing Brody say he was 16, something didn’t add up. He recalled exactly when he’d spent time with Lou, and it wasn’t difficult to calculate.
Later, Kit sees Brody standing outside a store and accuses him of shoplifting. Brody defends himself, but when Kit asks him for his birthday and Brody says, “2009,” the pieces fall into place. You can almost see the colour leave Kit’s face.
By the time he can even begin to process the truth of the matter, Lou shows up and attempts to shut everything down.
