Life has been messy for the Alahans lately in Coronation Street, and it looks like the chaos is finally catching up with Aadi. Trouble has followed him from every corner, and now he’s facing a huge choice that could change his life forever.
A Coronation Street Wedding Day Drama
Aadi has been spiraling for weeks. Ever since actor Adam Hussain revealed back in April that he’d be leaving the role, viewers have seen his character dragged deeper into trouble. Things came to a head on the day of Dev and Bernie’s wedding.
When Bernie was briefly taken to hospital, Aadi couldn’t hold his guilt any longer. He admitted to Dev that while left in charge of the Corner Shop, he’d run it into the ground financially. Bernie tried to step in and save the day by planning to use the money Auntie Rani had offered for the wedding to clear Aadi’s debts.
But the plan blew up spectacularly when Dev dismissed Rani after she insulted his bride-to-be. Things only got worse from there. Aadi drowned his sorrows and, in a drunken slip, admitted to Lauren, Dev, and Bernie that he was the one who spiked Lauren’s drink.
Dev finally snapped. He told his son it was time for a fresh start and insisted that Aadi go to India, where he could stand on his own two feet. But as ever with Aadi, life had more drama in store.
Arrest and Aftermath
Instead of preparing for his new life abroad, Aadi made yet another reckless choice. After spending an afternoon with Amy Barlow, his past crimes came knocking when the police arrested him for the LSD incident. Dev could only watch in despair as his son was bundled into a car and taken away.
Thankfully, the nightmare didn’t last long. Aadi returned to No.7 with some relief;?he’d been let off with just a caution. But that incident pushed him to make a final decision. Facing Dev and his twin sister Asha, Aadi announced that he’d spoken to cousin Vikram and was planning to leave for India immediately.
Dev told him he was proud of the choice, but Asha’s silence said it all. So, after sixteen years on the cobbles, Aadi is finally preparing to go. But can he keep out of trouble long enough to make it onto the plane? Or will the storm he’s been living under follow him, even as he leaves Weatherfield behind?
