Theo Silverton’s been juggling more than his fair share lately in Coronation Street, coming out, starting something new with Todd Grimshaw, and trying to keep things steady at home. But just when it seemed like a night out might give him a breather, things spiraled fast, leaving him torn between love, loyalty, and regret.
Theo Stretches Himself Thin
After years of hiding who he actually is, Theo did finally come out and started a relationship with Todd. But still, emotionally, he’s burdened by his past, particularly the trauma of undergoing so-called conversion therapy.
Things aren’t any easier at home. Danielle, his wife, is understandably upset and furious, while daughter Millie hasn’t coped too well either. Just recently, she revealed a bombshell, even bigger than when she first came out as gay, she’s pregnant.
Rather than informing her dad, Millie approached Todd first. When Theo did learn about it, he was livid Todd hadn’t mentioned anything earlier. Accordingly, he made the tough choice to live with his family again, informing Todd that he still loved him, but had to be there for his daughter.
As expected, Todd was wounded. The emotional distance increased further after Millie began sharing “happy family” pictures online with Theo at the centre. Todd retaliated in his own manner by posting a selfie with Sean and Billy, obviously attempting to remind the world that he was important too.
A Drag Night Takes a Sharp Turn in Coronation Street
Attempting to cover things up, Todd invited Theo to a Drag Night at the Rovers, which had been organized by Sean and Glenda. He wanted them to have some fun and forget about the tension for an evening. But as soon as they got there, Theo wouldn’t look away from his phone.
He was texting Millie all night long. With a growing sense of frustration, Todd switched his phone over to airplane mode to spend some quality time with Theo. It worked, though, for a little while. But everything changed when Theo grabbed his phone and realized it was in airplane mode. That’s when he saw the missed calls, from Danielle.
Millie in Trouble, and Theo Sees Red
Theo called Danielle back in a flash, only to be greeted by the last thing he wished to hear, Millie had been taken into hospital. Panicked and shocked, he lashed out at Todd in anger, and accused him of putting his phone on airplane mode.
Not saying much, Theo rushed off to be with his daughter, leaving Todd all alone. Todd is now left wondering everything. He wanted only one quiet night, one opportunity to reconnect. But that choice have possibly caused more hurt than good.
