Todd Grimshaw’s relationship with Theo Silverton in Coronation Street has been getting shakier by the week, and now, just as emotions are running high, someone unexpected is about to step into the middle of it all. And, this person isn’t here to make things easier.
Theo’s Past Is Still Casting a Shadow
Not long ago, Theo walked away from his marriage to Danielle to be with Todd, hoping to start fresh. But as we’ve seen, fresh starts aren’t always clean slates. Theo soon opened up about his experience with conversion therapy, and that part of his past still weighs heavy on him.
Since then, his behaviour has been more than a little unpredictable. Gareth Pierce, who plays Todd, recently shared that Todd’s spotted signs of anger issues in Theo, outbursts that have left him shaken. Still, he’s trying to be patient and supportive, believing he can help Theo feel settled in his new identity.
Todd’s standing by him, even when it’s clearly tough. Gareth explained that Todd’s trying to guide Theo toward being more comfortable as a gay man, clinging to the idea that love can carry them through the hard bits.
On top of that, Theo’s daughter Millie has been causing major stress. After faking a pregnancy, she’s made it her mission to drive a wedge between her dad and Todd. Safe to say, this relationship has had no shortage of hurdles.
Brookside Legend Joins the Coronation Street Cast
Now, things will change even more, Coronation Street has brought in soap veteran Sarah White for a guest role. Sarah, who Brookside fans will remember as Bev Dixon, is no stranger to drama, she appeared in over 600 episodes of the Channel 4 soap, and more recently popped up in Doctors, God’s Own Country, and Moving On.
According to The Sun, Sarah is currently filming and will appear on screen later this year. Her character is set to act as a mediator in Theo’s bitter divorce from Danielle, a divorce that’s already full of tension thanks to Todd’s presence. A source confirmed that Sarah’s role is right in the middle of the drama between Theo, Danielle, and Todd.
Can Todd Keep Holding It All Together?
Todd might think he’s doing the right thing by standing by Theo, but viewers can already see the warning signs he’s ignoring. Gareth Pierce pointed out that Theo’s jealousy and need for control are starting to show, but Todd hasn’t fully recognised the pattern, maybe because he doesn’t want to.
As more cracks form in the relationship, it’s hard not to wonder if Todd’s putting himself at risk by staying. Sarah White’s character might bring some clarity, or she might end up exposing more problems than solutions. Either way, it’s clear we’re heading for a major turning point.
