Eva Price is heading back to Coronation Street, and she’s bringing more than just memories. After years away, she returns with a brand-new family setup that includes a partner, a mother-in-law, and a few surprises packed in their bags. A major change is coming to the Rovers Return Inn, and it starts this October.
Eva’s Comeback Rumours Turn Out to Be True
Back in February, reports hinted at Catherine Tyldesley’s return as Eva Price. Fans got excited at the idea of seeing her again after a seven-year break. Eva left Weatherfield in 2018 after handing her baby daughter Suzie to Toyah and starting a new life in France.

The early rumours suggested Eva would return with a new man in her life. That alone was enough to get fans talking. With the Rovers still needing direction, many guessed Eva could be stepping back behind the bar. Now, those guesses have become reality. ITV has confirmed the return and it comes with a big twist.
Coronation Street: Meet the New Rovers Family!
Eva will return to the cobbles with her new partner Ben Driscoll and his outspoken mother, Maggie. Aaron McCusker, known for his role in Shameless, will play Ben. Maggie will be played by soap veteran Pauline McLynn, who previously appeared in EastEnders as Yvonne Cotton and famously played Mrs Doyle in Father Ted. The three of them will arrive in October and take over the Rovers Return Inn.

ITV described their arrival as loud and dramatic, with a “bang” and a “suitcase full of secrets.” They’re not just taking over the pub, they’re becoming a new focal point on the street. They’re also bringing their children. Ben’s two sons and Eva’s daughter Suzie will move in too. The child roles haven’t been announced yet, but Tyldesley has already started filming, so casting updates should come soon.
What to Expect From the New Era at the Rovers
Producer Kate Brooks said the team feels thrilled to bring Eva back as landlady of the Rovers, now leading a blended family. She explained that the Driscolls won’t arrive quietly. Viewers can expect big secrets, bold personalities, and wild parties behind the bar.

Brooks praised the new cast and called Catherine, Aaron, and Pauline “actors of considerable calibre.” She added that the team already loves the new family and believes viewers will too. The Rovers is getting a full makeover. Eva’s return marks the start of a big new chapter for Coronation Street.
