Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks has recently confirmed that a major storyline is coming up for Todd in 2025. Though the character had much quieter screen time this year, it looks like he will have an exiting year coming up. Coronation Street Producer Has Big Plans
Recently, Coronation Street Producer, Kate Brooks sat down with Digital Spy and spoke about the upcoming cobble romances. Brooks shared that a new man might be in sight for Todd in the coming year. The creators want his character to start 2025 on a happy note, and romance might be in the air.
While she did not reveal much about the mystery man, we wonder if this character will be someone already on the show or a new person is coming in? Brooks hinted that Todd’s romance would be difficult, and this new romance would come with its tests and trials. She also expressed her interest in exploring Grimshaws who make a big part of the Corrie Clan.
Moreover, Kate also shed some light on other cobble romances. She spoke about Alya, Adam, and Dee-Dee. While she pointed out that the romance for Adam and Alya has been a slow burn, it is going to get interesting. As for Dee-Dee, something big might be waiting for her. She even hinted that Joel’s end was just one chapter of her story, and we can definitely expect more.
If you thought it’s going to be all hearts and flowers, think again. The producer hinted that some major infidelities might be in works. Platts, Carla, and Lisa—would continue to be a focus point in 2025. In fact, according to her, these storylines might even end up taking centre stage next year.
Gareth Pierce, who plays Todd onscreen, had talked about his storyline in September with Digital Spy. In that interview, he hinted towards a possible relationship story for his character. However, given his age on the show, he also expressed some suspicions.
Onscreen, Todd will be 40 next month, still living at the home he grew up in. So, he was a little doubtful about how it will all go down.
