There’s been a lot of chatter among Coronation Street viewers lately, and it all circles back to one big question; is Todd Grimshaw about to leave the Street? Between how dark his relationship has become and the way the show keeps dropping little warning signs, it’s hard not to wonder if Todd might actually be heading for an exit.
Why Fans Are Questioning Todd’s Future
If you look at Todd’s recent scenes, it’s easy to see why viewers are uneasy. His relationship with Theo Silverton has become increasingly uncomfortable to watch, and the warning signs have been piling up.
Theo’s jealousy has been bubbling for weeks, especially when it comes to Todd’s past and the people around him. Instead of being supportive, Theo immediately shut it down by booking a weekend away for the same dates, making sure Todd couldn’t go.

Then came Todd’s harmless chat with Nick Tilsley about running routes. However, nothing until Sarah Platt casually mentioned Todd’s old crush, completely unaware of the fallout it would cause. From that point on, Theo became fixated.
Todd tried to reassure him that those feelings were long gone, but Theo refused to believe it, and the sense that Todd was being watched and controlled only grew stronger.
Could Todd Be Heading For The Exit?
The proposal has only made fans question things more, especially with Billy and Summer sharing visibly concerned looks. Billy has already noticed that Todd isn’t himself anymore, and his worries push him to speak with Alya Nazir about the abuse Yasmeen once suffered at the hands of Geoff Metcalfe, clearly trying to recognise the same signs in Todd’s relationship.

Behind the scenes, actor Gareth Pierce has hinted that Todd’s situation becomes even worse. He has said that although Todd does push back, the dynamic leaves him feeling even more trapped than before. That’s led many viewers to wonder whether the engagement is genuine or whether Todd is clinging to it because he feels he has no escape.
Adding fuel to the fire is the upcoming Corrie-Emmerdale crossover, Corriedale, which bosses have already teased will include fatalities. Todd appears on the cast list for the episode airing at 8 pm on Monday, January 5, and Gareth Pierce has revealed that Todd is unconscious in the immediate aftermath, though he hasn’t confirmed what happens next. Right now, there’s no official word that Todd is leaving Coronation Street, but the signs are hard to ignore. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Coronation Street spoilers.
