Todd Grimshaw has been through more than his fair share of heartbreak, but nothing could have prepared him for this in Coronation Street. His relationship with Theo was messy from day one, but what started as secretive and passionate is now spiraling into public chaos. One Kiss and One Furious Family
Things haven’t always been smooth sailing for Todd and Theo. What started out as a surprise hookup soon became messy when Todd realized Theo was a married man with two children.
And if that wasn’t complicated enough, Theo’s wife, Danielle, had a feeling something was wrong and accused Sarah Platt of cheating on her husband. But it didn’t take long for reality to slap her in the face, literally. She caught Theo kissing Todd.
In a fit of drunken rage, Theo lashed out. He instructed Todd to pack it in, spat that he’d never set eyes on him again, and then marched off back to the car, where Danielle waited.
Todd was left reeling, devastated, and absolutely vulnerable. But that, dear readers, was merely the start.
Coronation Street: Millie Storms In
Later on, Todd receives a surprise phone call from Danielle. She’s in panic. Theo’s gone missing. Again.
Eventually, Mick finds Theo stumbling through the street in a drunken mess. Later, he’s found stumbling down the street, drunk and upset. Mick collides with him, and things become violent when he pushes Theo into a wall.
But the real drama begins when Theo’s daughter, Millie, comes into the picture.
She’s furious, devastated, and demanding answers from her father. Todd senses the tension building, but he doesn’t anticipate what comes next.
Todd later hears the car alarm. He runs outside to see the hearse, it’s painted. Who did it? You guessed it. Millie. As she accuses him of “tearing her family apart,” Theo bursts in—only to stand up for Millie and defend her. The message is clear: Theo’s heart might belong to Todd, but his loyalty to his daughter hasn’t disappeared.
Love, Loss… and a Lot of Baggage
So where does that leave Todd and Theo?
It’s all or nothing now, according to actor James Cartwright, who portrays Theo. He recently described how for Theo, the bridges to his previous life are burned. His wife and children are aware. His world has been forever altered.
He indicated that Theo’s relationship with Todd goes deep and that they both are sacrificing a lot to make this happen. Todd’s having the emotional burden of being ‘the other man’, and Theo’s lost all from his family to his reputation on the construction site.
Nevertheless, James has faith they’re dedicated to a good try. As he describes it, it’s a genuine attempt at “domestic bliss between the scaffolder and the undertaker.” But with teenage rage, vandalism, and emotional damage piling up, can love alone hold out against the devastation?
