Todd’s latest confrontation in Coronation Street may have given viewers a moment to cheer but the shadows in his relationship with Theo haven’t lifted just yet. The tension between the couple has been growing for weeks, and this latest twist only worsens the unease surrounding Theo’s control over Todd.
Things Have Been Spiralling for a While
Ever since Todd and Theo got together earlier this year, cracks have slowly started to show. What began as a promising romance has turned into a disturbing cycle of manipulation, as Theo’s controlling behaviour escalated. Viewers watched in disbelief as the once-smooth-talking newcomer began asserting power over Todd in increasingly coercive ways.

Just this week, that behaviour took a more sinister turn. Monday’s episode saw a drunken Theo lash out after Todd brought food home, tossing it to the floor in a rage. He then tried to force-feed Todd before storming out and declaring he never wanted to see him again. In the fallout, Todd leaned on Sarah for support. When the two bumped into each other, they went for a drink at the pub. But even in that safe space, Todd continued to rationalise Theo’s actions.
Coronation Street: Theo Pushes Everyone Away
Back at home, Theo scrolled through his phone and spotted a photo of Todd and Sarah together in the pub. The image sent him into a fury. Billy, trying to play peacekeeper, approached to check in but Theo lashed out. He aggressively told Billy to “do one” and got in his face, clearly agitated and volatile.

Shortly after, his tough exterior cracked. Theo admitted to Billy that he had messed things up and pleaded for help. He asked Billy to speak to Todd for him, saying he just wanted a chance to explain and sort out the situation. “Please Billy, I just want a conversation with him so I can explain and sort out this mess,” he insisted.
Later at the pub, Todd confided in Billy about Theo’s erratic behaviour, though he stopped short of revealing the more violent side of the story. When Theo eventually came to apologise, he blamed his anger and jealousy, claiming it got the better of him. Todd wasn’t having it. Once they returned home, he finally confronted Theo head-on, stating that his behaviour was unacceptable and telling him to leave while he took time to think things through.

But Theo refused to take responsibility. When he asked what he’d done wrong, Todd calmly responded: “Nothing. And that’s the problem. No clue how vile you were. How scared I was. No responsibility. At all. And I am sick of it. So go on, get out. I need time to think.” Theo, clearly fuming but unable to argue, walked out.
While it seemed like a breakthrough moment for Todd, things might not stay that way for long. Spoilers for Friday’s episode suggest that Todd will soften again, perhaps swayed by old emotions or guilt, and allow Theo back in.
