In Coronation Street, nothing ever remains calm for long—and this time, the past could taint more than just reputations. When secrets are exposed, it‘s not only the lovers who take the hit.
Todd Left Reeling as Theo Walks Away
Todd Grimshaw’s relationship with scaffolder Theo Silverton crashed last week when Theo‘s wife, Danielle, caught the two of them kissing. The row brought an end to their secret relationship at once, with Theo deciding to go back to his family and shut Todd out for good.
When Todd later confronted him for explanations, Theo is said to have snapped in anger, ordering Todd to stay away from him and leaving no room for doubt that their relationship was over.
Events take another turn in future episodes, when Theo‘s daughter Millie arrives at the undertakers searching for her dad. Todd, very tight-strung, sees the meeting but is surprised later by activity outside. Having gone to answer a car alarm, he discovers that the hearse has been vandalized—painted. To his displeasure, Millie is to blame.
Todd confronts her but things quickly get out of hand. Millie berates him for ruining her family. The heated exchange attracts the attention of Theo‘s, and he chimes in to defend his daughter, further widening the gap between him and Todd.
Coronation Street Co-Stars Reunite After Years Apart
While James Cartwright, who is famous for his appearances in Downton Abbey, appeared on Coronation Street last month as Theo. Gareth Pierce, who has the role of Todd, reported that this isn‘t the first time they‘ve collaborated.
Pierce admitted that he first encounteredCartwright more than ten years ago after appearing in one of James‘s father‘s plays. The pair had recently collaborated on The Archers, the BBC Radio 4 long-running radio soap.
While Todd’s romantic hopes may be dashed, it seems the drama off-screen has brought about a welcome reunion for the actors—just as the on-screen tension continues to rise. We will keep you posted regarding this Coronation Street storyline. Stay tuned on Soap Opera Daily!
