Tourists on the Coronation Street set tour were surprised when they visited earlier. Amid the cobbled squares and famous icons, one viewer noticed a new addition—and it might revolutionise one of the soap’s enduring families. What they saw wasn‘t part of any existing story or teased within future trailers, but it showed a big development before it was ever supposed to air.
No. 6 Hits the Market—And the Nazirs Are Moving On
A quiet but massive shift outside No. 6 Coronation Street has driven the soap‘s fans into a buzz. A “For Sale“ board was photographed firmly in front of the property long lived in by the Nazir clan. The snapshot was taken by a tourist on the ITV studio tour, who proceeded to post it online, unwittingly sharing a spoiler that‘s not set to hit the telly for another fortnight.
The house has served as the Nazir family home since 2013. It‘s now inhabited by Alya Nazir, played by Sair Khan, who‘s been staying there since her grandmother Yasmeen (Shelley King) departed Weatherfield in recent shows.
Now, the indication is that Alya is on her way out, with the auction of the family home making it explicitly clear. A Corrie source revealed that Alya lists the house for sale on behalf of Yasmeen, affirming her grandmother’s exit as permanent. However, they added that Alya herself has no plans to leave Weatherfield.
This sudden twist closes fan speculation that Alya‘s boyfriend, Adam Barlow, could become a resident. Instead, some fans wonder if Carla Connor and Lisa Swain might be interested in the property, possibly moving in with Lisa’s daughter Betsy and Carla‘s nephew Ryan Connor. With Coronation Street normally filming 8 to 10 weeks before transmission, the “For Sale“ board is an obvious spoiler.
Coronation Street: Alya‘s New Chapter Begins as Yasmeen’s Ends
Yasmeen Nazir left last month to start a new job in London. Actress Shelley King, who has played Yasmeen since 2014, has been central to one of the soap’s most influential storylines. Her exit brings to an end an important period on the street.
Since Yasmeen’s departure, Alya has been fasting during Ramadan and helping her pal DeeDee cope with personal issues. She‘s also made moves in business life, adding a new partner to Speed Daal following Yasmeen‘s decision to sell her shares to Leanne Battersby before departing.
No. 6 isn‘t the first home to be placed on sale on the cobblestones lately. Gail Platt sold her legendary home in late 2024 as she left Weatherfield, marking the end of a 50-year era. Carla had genuinely been interested in the house. But her bid was thwarted after a fatal fire, set by Max Turner, destroyed the property.
With Alya bidding farewell to her family’s house, viewers can anticipate fresh storylines about her future. The destiny of No. 6 and who gets to make it their home has yet to be revealed. We will keep you posted about the upcoming spoilers on Soap Opera Daily. Stay tuned!
