Mick Michaelis was supposed to be locked up for good after what he did to Craig Tinker in Coronation Street. So when someone caught sight of him back on the cobbles, alive and free, it set off a chain of events no one in Weatherfield saw coming.
A Violent Villain Comes Back
Earlier this year, viewers watched in horror as Mick Michaelis was arrested for the brutal murder of PC Craig Tinker, a crime that left the community shaken and Mick behind bars. Since then, many believed the danger had passed, with Mick locked up and his partner Lou also jailed following her attack on Gary Windass. But those hopes were short-lived.
In a moment of compassion, Sally Metcalfe stepped in to support the child, even collecting her from school when her distress became overwhelming. While Joanie sought refuge with Sally, trouble was already brewing behind the prison walls. With help from Brody, Mick managed to crawl under a laundry van and slip out unnoticed. Brody tipped him off that Joanie was still at Weatherfield High, prompting Mick to head straight there with a desperate plan in mind.
Mick Makes His Move in Coronation Street
Mick’s arrival at the school startled both Daniel Osbourne and headteacher Mrs Crawshaw, who were stunned to see the fugitive demanding access to Joanie. Upon learning Joanie had already left, Mick quickly turned violent, locking the pair inside an office before bolting toward the street.
It didn’t take long for him to track Joanie down. She was with Sally outside Underworld, the local factory. Kit, now alerted to Mick’s escape, followed closely behind. But Mick moved fast, storming into the factory and taking Tim and Sarah Platt hostage as he tried to reach his daughter.
Meanwhile, Sally, thinking on her feet, managed to sneak Joanie onto the factory roof, hoping to keep her safe. Chaos unfolded below as Mick wounded Kit, leaving him critically injured, and continued his pursuit.
On the rooftop, Sally stood her ground. With Joanie clinging to her, she confronted Mick head-on. In a tense standoff, she promised to take care of Joanie and her sister Shanice, assuring them of a safer life. With no way out and Sally refusing to back down, Mick finally surrendered to the police.
