In a special flashforward set on April 23, 2026, a shaken Betsy Swain sits in a police interview room and recounts the moment everything changed.
Still wearing her wedding outfit after attending Lisa and Carla’s ceremony, she explains she found a dead body while heading into town, and it was someone she recognised. The episode, released on ITVX before airing February 16 at 8:30pm on ITV, immediately confirms the death links to the wedding day.
It reveals five characters who could end up dead: Megan Walsh, Theo Silverton, Maggie Driscoll, Jodie Ramsey and Carl Webster. The story then jumps back to the present timeline, showing how each of them moves closer to danger in the weeks leading up to the murder.
Megan Walsh’s manipulation of young Will Driscoll continues to spiral. Her lies tighten around multiple residents, raising the possibility that someone decides she has gone too far, and makes her pay the ultimate price.
The Secret That Could Decide The Victim
Maggie Driscoll already risks exposure after giving Will a false alibi for the Christmas Day attack on Daniel Osbourne. She acted to protect her family, but if she uncovers Megan’s deception, she could become a target herself. Carl Webster has created enemies everywhere.
He let Debbie take the blame for the Corriedale accident that killed Billy Mayhew and then discovered Debbie is actually his mother.
Since then, he lashes out at friends and family alike, leaving plenty of people with a motive against him. Theo Silverton’s behaviour toward Todd Grimshaw grows increasingly controlling as their wedding approaches. Todd keeps quiet for now, but the situation pushes toward a breaking point; either Todd exposes him, or someone else steps in to stop Theo for good.
