It’s been quite a week for the Alahans in Coronation Street. Dev and Bernie finally tied the knot, but as you’d expect in Weatherfield, the road to “I do” came with a few twists. And now, instead of starting married life with a honeymoon together, Bernie’s heading off alone.
A Wedding That Didn’t Go To Plan
The day began with a shock. While getting ready, Bernie thought she’d caught a burglar in the house. But when she got a proper look, it turned out to be her grandson, Brody Michaelis. Even though that was quite a shock, Bernie still made it to the wedding. But during the ceremony, Bernie had an allergic reaction and collapsed. Later, the couple exchanged vows later at the hospital. It wasn’t what they’d planned, but at least they got to say their “I dos.”
As if that wasn’t enough, there was more family drama waiting in the wings. Aadi finally admitted to Dev that he’d racked up a large amount of debt in the shop. Bernie had already arranged a low-cost wedding so Auntie Rani’s money could be used to pay it off. Though the gesture was too kind, it left Dev with more worries.
Coronation Street: Aadi’s Problems Grow
Next week, things get even more complicated for Aadi. After spending time with Amy Barlow, he comes home to find police officer Jess there with Dev and Asha. Now, it looks his debt troubles aren’t going away any time soon and maybe, the LSD troubles would add along. Knowing how much Dev needed to focus on his son, Bernie suggested they postpone their honeymoon.
Bernie thought it was better for him to stay and work things out with Aadi before they went away. Dev agreed, but he didn’t want Bernie to miss out completely. He told her to go ahead without him, saying some time away might be good for her after everything that had happened.
Before she left, Bernie gave Dev a kiss. So while Bernie enjoys a break, Dev will be in Weatherfield trying to sort things out with Aadi. And as we all know, that could be easier said than done. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Coronation Street updates.
