Coronation Street is about to see one of its most disturbing storylines reach a turning point as Megan Walsh’s actions finally come to light in Weatherfield. While several residents have grown suspicious of her behavior, the truth about her relationship with young athlete Will Driscoll is set to explode next week. However, the biggest twist may not be the exposure of Megan’s crimes; but the fact that Will himself refuses to see her as the villain.
Megan’s Grooming Of Will Finally Comes To Light
Over the past few months, Coronation Street has built a difficult and issue-based storyline centered around Megan Walsh and her troubling influence over teenager Will Driscoll. The athletics coach slowly manipulated the youngster and groomed him into an inappropriate relationship while carefully keeping the truth hidden.
At the same time, Megan complicated matters even further by beginning a relationship with Daniel Osbourne. While juggling both situations, she also intimidated Sam Blakeman and pressured him into staying quiet about what he knew.

However, the web of secrets will finally begin to unravel next week. Daniel starts to question Megan directly about her connection with Will, forcing the situation into the open. By this point, several residents have already sensed that something is not right.
Sam has long carried the burden of knowing the truth, while Lauren Bolton and Leanne Battersby have both picked up on the strange dynamic between Megan and the teenager.
Will Defends Megan Despite The Truth
Even as Megan’s disturbing behavior becomes clear to the rest of Weatherfield, Will struggles to understand what has really happened to him. According to Will actor, he genuinely believes he is not a victim at all. In his mind, a victim is someone who has gone through extreme suffering. And because he thinks he has been enjoying the relationship, he fails to recognise the harm being done.
Hodgson-Wale explained that Will remains completely unaware of how Megan has been controlling the situation. He simply goes along with everything, without realising the emotional toll the situation is taking. As the actor noted, the situation is becoming increasingly dangerous.

From his perspective, the relationship feels mutual, so the idea that he was manipulated will be difficult for him to grasp. Although Will initially supports Megan, the emotional consequences of the situation will eventually start to surface once the truth sinks in and he has to face his family.
Leanne Battersby, who is essentially family to Will, plays a key role in the fallout. However, Will has never been particularly cautious about hiding the relationship. He has taken risks by showing affection in public and even kissing Megan in cars, behaviour that shows he still does not fully understand the seriousness of what has been happening.
When the situation finally blows up, Will begins to feel a deep sense of shame. Interestingly, the actor explained that this embarrassment does not necessarily come from the relationship itself, but from the lies he has told the people closest to him. As the storyline develops and the people around him begin to pull away, those two versions of Will will slowly merge. Let’s see what happens.
