CS/ Eva arrives in Weatherfield

EVA’S NEW START TURNS SOUR! Rovers Return Landlady Faces Wrath in Coronation Street

By Roy

Eva Price’s long-awaited return to Coronation Street was supposed to mark a bright new beginning. But instead, it has left her facing one of the most frightening moments of her life. Just days after taking over the Rovers Return, Eva’s world began to unravel when a family crisis spiralled out of control, ending with a menacing warning that no one saw coming.

A Rocky Beginning for the New Landlady

When Eva Price, played by Catherine Tyldesley, made her comeback to the ITV soap last week, viewers were thrilled to see her back behind the bar. Having left Weatherfield in 2018, she’d been living in Hull with her daughter Susie, her partner Ben, and his two sons, Ollie and Will.

Her return to the cobbles was tied to a major life change; Ben had secretly bought the Rovers Return as a surprise gift for her. But what should have been a dream quickly turned sour. The purchase hit financial trouble, forcing Ben’s mother, Maggie, to step in with the funds.

CS/ Trouble in Driscoll family

From the start, Eva and Maggie’s relationship was clearly strained. By Monday’s episode, those cracks had widened, and a missing teenager turned that discomfort into open hostility. Will was supposed to travel from Hull to Weatherfield, but when Ollie arrived at the station to pick him up, he found no sign of his brother.

Returning to the pub empty-handed, he told Eva and Maggie that Will hadn’t shown up. Maggie immediately snapped that Will “never wanted to move” in the first place, insisting that his GCSEs should have been prioritised over this “nonsense relocation.”

Coronation Street: Eva’s Panic Meets Maggie’s Fury

As night fell and the pub prepared to close, Eva’s concern turned into dread. There was still no word from Will, and after repeated calls went unanswered, she told Maggie she had contacted the police. Eva explained that Will had gone missing before, and she asked, “What if he’s had an accident?”

But Maggie showed little sympathy. She coldly stated that Will would turn up but added that Eva needed to understand “what she’s put him through.”

Moments later, Ollie discovered a folded note inside Will’s schoolbag that read: “Thanks for last night xx.” He believed his brother might be seeing someone, but before the family could discuss it, Maggie’s fury erupted. Fixing Eva, she declared that if anything had happened to her grandson, Eva would “regret the day she came here.”

The threat shocked everyone, and fans quickly took to social media to share their reactions. Many celebrated Eva’s return, calling it the start of a “new era” for Coronation Street. One viewer praised the show’s focus on “community and character”, while another said the episode “felt alive”. Still, viewers couldn’t ignore the darker tone of Eva’s storyline.
