Todd Grimshaw just can’t seem to catch a break right now in Coronation Street, and Theo Silverton’s latest move proves just how nasty things have become. Even though it looks like another flare-up of jealousy, it quickly turns into something far more calculated, leaving Todd exposed, shaken, and once again paying the price for Theo’s temper.
Theo’s Pattern Of Control Has Been Building For Months
Since Theo entered Todd’s life earlier this year, Todd has slowly changed. The confident, chatty Todd we all knew has faded into someone quieter, constantly second-guessing himself. Theo has chipped away at him bit by bit. He’s used manipulation, sudden anger, and control to keep Todd on edge, making sure he knows exactly who’s in charge.
One of the biggest warning signs has been how hard Theo worked to cut Todd off from the people who care about him. Billy Mayhew, in particular, has always been a problem for Theo. Any time Todd wanted to spend time with Billy or Summer, Theo caused a scene.
Eventually, Todd backed away from them altogether, clearly trying to keep the peace at home, even if it meant hurting himself in the process.
A Jealous Rage Turns Into Theo’s Cruel Stunt
Things took a darker turn when Theo learned about some of Todd’s past crushes, including actor Andrew Scott and Weatherfield businessman Nick Tilsley. That jealousy finally exploded when Theo spotted Todd having a perfectly innocent chat with Nick in the Bistro.
Theo immediately dragged Todd away, claiming they needed to pick up a birthday cake for George Shuttleworth. Outside the cake shop, he laid into Todd, accusing him of flirting and embarrassing him.
Todd tried to explain that it meant nothing and that he had no feelings for Nick, but Theo wouldn’t hear a word of it. Then came the real cruelty. Theo forced Todd to walk home alone across Manchester while he drove the cake back to the party.
To make matters worse, Todd was left without his jacket or his phone, completely cut off and left to fend for himself in the cold. Back at the party, Theo played the perfect guest and even shut the conversation down by whisking Sally Metcalfe onto the dance floor.
Billy Realises The Truth in Coronation Street
Billy’s worries only grew when he later found Todd’s jacket and phone. When he tried to return them, Theo stopped him and insisted Todd would already be asleep. That story quickly fell apart. Not long after, Billy ran into Todd himself; soaked, freezing, and clearly shaken. Todd tried to laugh it off, but Billy wasn’t buying it. He knew Todd hadn’t been as drunk as Theo claimed and could see that something wasn’t right.
Wanting Todd to know he wasn’t alone, Billy gave him a spare key to his flat and told him he could come round anytime if he needed somewhere safe. Theo’s latest cruel stunt has finally exposed just how dangerous his behaviour has become.
