In a major casting swap that’s turning heads, Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings reveals a soap world twist—Chad DiMera is getting recast, and the man stepping in is no stranger to daytime drama. While one fan-favorite exits, another finds a new home in Salem.
Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings: Conner Floyd Joins
Conner Floyd, best known for playing Chance Chancellor on The Young and the Restless, is officially heading to Days of Our Lives. He’ll become the third actor to play Chad DiMera, following Casey Deidrick and Billy Flynn. Floyd starts filming this week, on Monday, June 23.
Fans won’t see him onscreen immediately, though. Since DOOL films months ahead, viewers can expect his debut as Chad around April 2026. That’s also the time Billy Flynn’s exit storyline wraps up, completing the torch-passing moment. This switch comes just as Flynn crosses over to Y&R, where he now plays a mysterious man named Aristotle Dumas—actually Cane Ashby in disguise. So, it’s a true soap-style switcheroo!
Floyd’s casting adds excitement to Chad’s current romance with Cat Greene. The chemistry between Floyd and AnnaLynne McCord could shift storylines, especially as Chad’s role deepens during upcoming twists.
What Happens to Chance Chancellor on Y&R?
Floyd’s shift means big changes for Y&R as well. He’s currently on recurring status and was last seen in May 2024. Fans had hoped for more scenes, especially due to his strong romance arc with Summer Newman. But once she left for Italy, Chance’s role faded. Still, viewers will catch a few final glimpses of Floyd as Chance during the week of June 23-27. He appears at Dumas’s party in France—likely his last scenes before exiting Genoa City.
It’s bittersweet for longtime fans, but Floyd’s DOOL debut opens new doors. His experience with recasts, strong screen presence, and fan following make him a promising fit for the DiMera legacy. That wraps up this edition of Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings. For more exclusive soap coverage, visit Soap Opera Daily. See you in Salem!
