The soapverse is in shock ever since news broke out that Steve Kent is out of Sony Pictures TV. Fans are wondering what this would mean for Days of Our Lives and The Young and The Restless. As he was the one overseeing both soaps as Senior Executive Vice President of Programming.
This comes even more as a shock because, Steve recently attended the DOOL 15,000th episode party. In fact, he even gave a speech at the on-set Days of Our Lives event on April 11, 2024. Many sources are reporting that despite his presence and the speech, Steve’s last day with Sony Pictures TV was April 12, 2024.
Although, we must point that neither Steve nor Sony have officially announced the end of their collaboration. Yet sources assert that he has very much parted ways with Sony Pictures TV. We wonder what could have led to this sudden exit.
Previously, Days of Our Lives co-executive producer and director, Albert Alarr, was fired from the soap following many complaints against him. The most publicized one being that of Arianne Zucker. The whole PR nightmare began when Ari Zucker filed a lawsuit against him for misconduct.
Ari claimed that she was basically forced out of Days of Our Lives and her contract was not renewed. She also opened up that since DOOL does not have an HR department, she went to the one at Sony. So we can assume that the whole things blew back at Sony Pictures TV, and spilled on to Steve Kent as well.
Anyhoo, now that Steve Kent is out as the exec, we wonder how it will shake things up at Days of Our Lives and The Young and The Restless. So stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily and we will report back to you on all the latest developments on this and other Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates.
I hope they bring Ari back.
I want Ari to stay at Days.
